2018-2019 Event Highlights

Week of Welcome (& Beyond) | August 15th – August 31st

During Week of Welcome (WOW) we gear up for the new school year and welcome all our new students. To introduce students to our campus community, we host a number of activities and programs  so students can become familiar with the Lincoln College’s array of resources, meet new people, and make new friends.

Movie on the Quad: Screening “Black Panther” | August 23 at 8:45 p.m. on the Quad

A Week of Welcome staple, join us on the Quad for a screening of the record breaking film “Black Panther”.

T-Murph | October 25th  at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnston Center

T Murph is a comedian that broke out of the Chicago comedy scene and has been rising quickly ever since. This summer, he’ll be seen in his first comedy special, The Next Level, which is produced by Kevin Hart for Comedy Central, and will be seen in a recurring part in Epix’s drama series, Get Shorty. T Murph was a part of the current season on Wild N’ Out for MTV, and has TV credits that include Key and Peele (Comedy Central), Comic View (BET), and Chicago Fire (NBC). T Murph was a finalist at the NBC Diversity Showcase this year and will be a finalist at the HBO organized American Black Film Festival (ABFF) this Summer in Miami Beach. He has also appeared at the New York Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs Chicago, and the Second City Breakout Festival.

LynxFest | August 29th from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on the Quad

LynxFest is the best place to find out how you can get involved at Lincoln College and in the community. LynxFest takes place during the Week of Welcome in August, held on the Quad. Over a hundred student organizations, campus departments, and community organizations and businesses come together to welcome our students.

Slip ‘n Slide Kickball | August 31st from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Practice Fields

Get your team together and join us at the practice fields for our annual slippery intense game of Slip ‘n Slide Kickball. It’s as fun as it sounds!

Homecoming Kickoff Party | November 4th from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. in the Davidson-Sheffer Gym

Let’s make Homecoming a memorable one with our kickoff party in the ole’ Lynx Lair. DJ Mike P will be spinning and we’ll announce the 2018 Homecoming King and Queen.

Family Weekend | October 19th – 20th

The Evasons “Mentalist Duo” | October 20th at 7 p.m. in the Johnston Center

The Evasons are one of very few couples who still travel around the globe to carry on the rare and incredible talent known as Second Sight. From the moment they walk on stage, Jeff & Tessa Evason interact with people in the audience, making marvelous extrasensory connections. People are often speechless when Tessa perceives birth dates, personal items, a serial number on any bill in a borrowed wallet or even the name of distant loved ones — all while standing on stage wearing a blindfold. Her intuitive gifts will captivate you. You might even unleash a spooked-out shriek! Since 1983 The Evasons have traveled to over 35 countries, performing at private parties and gala events. Network TV appearances include NBC, CBS, FOX, CW Network, Discovery Channel, and Netflix. And they have received some of the top awards in the world of magic and psychic entertainment. Still feeling a little skeptical? Remember, there are no stooges, hidden wires or secret electronic communication devices. In fact, they will give $100,000 to anyone who can prove otherwise!

Screening Disney Pixar’s “Coco” | September 8th at 8 p.m. in the Johnston Center

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month we’ll be screen Disney Pixar’s “Coco” in the Johnston Center – main stage.
